The beauty of this dessert is it's simplicity. Ripe, luscious berries infused with a delicate citrus flavor and adorned with a creamy dollop of flavored whipped cream.

 

  • To prepare 2 pints of strawberries: Choose the ripest,juicest strawberries available. Remove green leaves and core any green or yellow where fruit meets the vine. Leave whole. Sprinkle with 2 - 3 tbsp caster sugar and 2 - 3 tbsp orange brandy. Place strawberries in the refrigerator for two - three hours. (stir occasionally).
  • For the cream topping. Whip 1 cup heavy cream unitl soft peaks form. Gently stream about two tablespoons of orange-flavored brandy into cream. Continue to whip while adding 2 tbsp low-fat sour cream and 1 tsp vanilla. Whip for another 30 seconds ensuring that cream holds its shape. Place cream in the refrigerator until strawberries are ready to be served.
